WOW! Over $91,000 raised and a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title for Largest cornhole tournament! All thanks to the amazing support we received from our community – sponsors, donors, tournament participants, spectators, and volunteers! The 10th annual Cabin Fever Bean Bag Tournament was a tremendous success! The funds raised will be donated to the Eagles Cancer Telethon which is dedicated to improving people's lives by raising funds for cancer research. The telethon benefactors are the cancer research centers at Mayo Clinic, the University of Minnesota, and Hormel Institute.
As you are probably aware, this was the final year of the Cabin Fever Bean Bag Tournament, at least for now. The committee members have dedicated countless hours over the last decade to create a fantastic event and an opportunity to support the fight against cancer, a disease that affects us all. We hope that you have enjoyed the tournament and all that it has entailed over the years. We are extremely grateful and humbled by the amount of support we have received. While we will always cherish the time we have spent together as a committee, working toward our collective goal, we all have very busy lives and families (that have grown over the last decade!). Our responsibilities have changed as have our priorities.
That is not to say that continued philanthropy and generosity are any less important! But that is where YOU come in. We encourage YOU to continue to make a difference, whether in the fight against cancer or another cause that is close to your heart. When Cabin Fever began, none of us had any special training or specific knowledge about fundraising, gambling laws, or cornhole for that matter. Together we learned along the journey and look what became of it! With your help, we raised over a half million dollars!
We had two goals for our final tournament; to break the record and to break $100,000. We’ve accomplished one of those goals and we’re so close to the other. There is still time to help us. You can purchase some Cabin Fever gear or make a cash donation from the web site. If all of the record-breaking participants donate as little as $20 each, or if everyone who received this email donates $10, we will exceed our goal!

Registration Opens
Registration for the bean bag tournament is now full! Don't worry! You are highly encouraged to come to the event and share in the excitement as there will be many fun activities that you can participate in and items that you could take home! Please see the Big Ticket and Silent Auction pages for specifics. Also, check out the Tournament page for a list of all the Cabin Fever activities going on that day! It's going to be a fun day that ends with a bang and its all for a great cause!

After much careful thought and consideration, and maybe a few tears, the Cabin Fever committee has decided that the 10th Annual Cabin Fever Bean Bag Tournament will be our last, at least as we know it. We sincerely appreciate the support we have received over the years and we’re truly grateful and amazed at the amount that you, our community, has helped us raise in the fight against cancer (over $450,000 so far!). That being said, we’re not about to go out quietly!
The tournament will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at the Rochester Event Center. Last year’s event raised over $78,000 for the fight against cancer. Our goal for 2019 event is $100,000 and we will need your help to reach it!
This event is going to be the biggest one yet. In fact, it’s going to be the biggest one ever as it will be an attempt to break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for Largest cornhole tournament!
Registration will open to everyone Tuesday, December 4th. There will be no early-bird registration this year and the only way to register will be through our website.
Due to A GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ official attempt, it is even more important to complete the registration/contact information completely and accurately for each player. At the time of registration we will need the following information for every player along with your team name:
- Name
- Phone number
- Email address
- Shirt size
Space is limited and the tournament will fill up quickly so don’t delay!
Even though this tournament will be A GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ official attempt, our main focus is raising as much money as possible for cancer research. We are currently looking for event sponsors and taking donations for the silent auction and big ticket raffle. Please let us know if you, your business, or someone you know might be interested in sponsoring or donating; we will get you more information.
